Breast Lift Procedure

A breast lift works by removing excess skin and repositioning the breast tissue and nipples to a higher, more appealing position. Having performed over 1,000 breast surgeries in the last few years alone, Dr. Weinberg is extremely experienced at breast enhancement procedures. He reports that breast lift and breast augmentation are among the surgeries he performs most frequently.

Breast lift procedures are typically performed under general anesthesia. The procedure usually takes around 2 hours to complete, and is usually performed at the clinic, where patients can enjoy our attentive staff and spa-like atmosphere. However, because Dr. Weinberg served as Division Head of Plastic Surgery at Trillium Health Centre fore more than 15 years, patients have the option of having their surgery in hospital as well. As with all surgical procedures, there are possible complications that can occur with breast lift. Potential complications specific to your surgery will be discussed in detail at your consultation. For a discussion of general risks of surgery, review Dr. Weinberg’s Your First Visit page.

There are 3 main incision types used in breast lift surgery: periareolar, “lollipop,” and “anchor,” with the choice largely dependent on the size of the breasts. Dr. Weinberg recommends methods that can produce small scars and very pleasing results. During your procedure, Dr. Weinberg will reshape the breast and move the nipple up to a more desirable position. By removing excess skin as well as tightening the breast, the result is a more firm and youthful look.

Dr. Weinberg will discuss and answer questions about specific possible side effects and complications in detail during your consultation.
