Mississauga Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Clinic

Just as I believe it’s important to adjust cosmetic regimens to a patient’s age and cosmetic goals, I also believe it’s important to adjust one’s daily beauty routine to the weather conditions. Toronto plastic surgeons often help patients to effectively combine treatments and UV exposure.and products to adjust for expected weather conditions such as humidity From January through March, I recommend the following plan:

IPL Photofacial: This laser-like treatment targets skin texture and color issues that fall under the category of sun damage. Also an effective treatment for other conditions such as acne and rosacea, IPL Photofacial is a perfect option during winter months because levels of UV radiation are at their lowest, when your skin will best tolerate the treatment.

SkinMedica® Lytera®: This home treatment is appropriate for all skin types to reduce the appearance of skin discoloration, fade fine lines, and improve the evenness of skin tone. Lytera helps patients maintain and even enhance the results of their non-surgical treatments.

JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA®: This injectable hyaluronic acid filler adds volume to lips for a plump, natural-looking appearance. It’s ideal in the winter as many patients will notice decreased dryness, and fewer lip lines that are often more visible in dry winter weather. It can also be used to “erase” fine lines in the forehead, cheeks, above the mouth and many other locations. VOLBELLA is formulated with VYCROSS™ technology, which means it is smoother, easier to inject, and lasts longer. Also, it contains lidocaine to minimize discomfort during the treatment.

Chemical Peels: Peels are a great way to help fade unwanted brown spots, and peel away the dead outer of layer of skin to reveal a fresher, brighter complexion beneath. Like IPL, these treatments can render skin sun sensitive, so the winter months are the ideal time for peels. The Spot Peel Treatment by DERMACEUTIC is a great complement to IPL and to at home pigment fading skin creams like Lytera, but there are a number of peel options. Our medical aesthetician can help you choose the one that’s right for you.

Choosing great treatments and products during the right time of year isn’t a guarantee for beautiful results. Finding a qualified specialist is the most important component to achieving your cosmetic goals and entering spring with a refreshed, youthful-looking glow.
