If you are dissatisfied with the appearance of your nose, you have probably considered nose surgery, also known as rhinoplasty, in Mississauga and Toronto. This transformation can be accomplished in various ways, such as reducing or increasing size, removing a hump, changing the shape of the tip or bridge, narrowing the span of the nostrils, or modifying the angle between the nose and upper lip. It may also include work on the septum to try to improve some breathing problems.
Rhinoplasty is a meticulous and delicate operation, and great improvements in appearance can be achieved with subtle anatomical changes. Nose Surgery Procedure
In Mississauga, a rhinoplasty procedure may correct several nasal imperfections such as:
- Overall size
- Nostril width
- Tip projection
- Dorsal hump
Rhinoplasty usually takes about 2 to 3 hours to complete, and is almost always performed under general anesthesia. As with all surgical procedures, there are possible complications that can occur with nose surgery. Potential complications specific to your surgery will be discussed in detail at your consultation. He will also review other cosmetic surgery procedures such as liposuction or breast implants for Toronto and Missisauga patients who are interested. For a discussion of general risks of surgery, review Dr. Weinberg's Your First Visit page.
Cost & Related Procedures
The cost of a rhinoplasty procedure depends on various aspects, such as whether an open or closed procedure is performed. This procedure can be combined with other surgical procedures including eyelid surgery or non-surgical rejuvenation procedures including dermal fillers.
After Your Procedure
After a rhinoplasty procedure, patients are usually back to work in 1 to 2 weeks. More strenuous activities may commence in 2 to 3 weeks. Patients must avoid even minor trauma to the nose for 8 weeks. Subtle changes to the appearance of the nose may occur for up to a year after surgery. The results of nose surgery are permanent.
