Dr. Weinberg – Innovator & Educator
Dr. Weinberg has been an innovator in cosmetic procedures and treatments. He was one of the first surgeons in Canada to introduce the "Mommy Makeover," a combination of surgical procedures designed to address the concerns of women post pregnancy and breastfeeding, to the Canadian surgical vocabulary. He has functioned as a training injector for the makers of Restylane®, is actively involved in research, with a study on breast reduction presently underway, and he is extensively published, with a recent book chapter on injectable fillers.
Dr. Weinberg serves as the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Trillium Health Centre, one of the largest teaching hospitals in Ontario and is an adjunct lecturer at the University of Toronto Medical School. As such he is up-to-date and on the cutting edge of all the latest cosmetic medical procedures, being actively involved in teaching and conducting examinations of plastic surgery residents for the University of Toronto medical residency program. He is invited to participate in numerous conferences and symposiums yearly. Additionally, he believes in educating his patients, spending as much time as necessary during consultations to answer all questions.
A Surgeon in Demand
Many news and media outlets regularly turn to Dr. Weinberg for advice and insight, and he has been interviewed for publications such as the Globe & Mail, and the Toronto Star, and has appeared on television programs on CBC, Global Television and CTV. He is often asked to give his professional opinion and demonstrate his surgical and injecting skills, and to discuss the latest trends in cosmetic surgery. Perhaps the greatest endorsement of the regard in which he is held is that Dr. Weinberg counts many of his medical colleagues and their family members among his patients.
Giving back is important to Dr. Weinberg. For the first 14 years of his life he grew up in Zimbabwe, Africa. With a passion to help his country, and seeing the desperate need for adequate medical supplies and care there, Dr. Weinberg and his cousin began to send donated medical equipment to a small rural hospital serving a huge underprivileged community. Now partnered with the Salvation Army, the Howard Hospital Project has grown to be a large organization, delivering thousands of dollars of medical supplies to Zimbabwe yearly.
