Keep in mind that each patient is unique and your results may vary.

Blepharoplasty Procedure

In Toronto and Mississauga, eyelid surgery is performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on the extent of eyelid sagging. The procedure can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours and is usually performed at the clinic, where women and men can enjoy the comfort and convenience of a private facility. For those who wish to have their surgery in hospital it can be arranged at Trillium Health Centre. As with all surgical procedures, there are possible complications that can occur with eyelid surgery. Potential complications specific to your surgery will be discussed in detail at your consultation. For a discussion of general risks of surgery, review Dr. Weinberg’s Your First Visit page.

Blepharoplasty Cost in Mississauga & Toronto

The cost of your eyelid surgery will depend on whether it is covered by OHIP, and also if it is combined with other facial cosmetic procedures. Procedures that blepharoplasty can be performed with include a forehead liftfacelift, as well as other non-surgical procedures that can enhance the appearance of the eyes, like injectable fillers for the under eye area and Latisse.

After Your Procedure

There may be some degree of temporary dryness, burning and itching of eyes, and tightness of the lids after your eyelid surgery. Excessive tearing and sensitivity to light for the first few weeks is possible, and although there may be some difficulty in closing the eyes completely, it is usually temporary.

While patient experiences vary, women and men typically return to work within 7 to 10 days following the procedure. Contact lenses may be worn after 2 weeks or more as instructed by Dr. Weinberg. Generally, patients are able to resume strenuous activities after 3 weeks, and bruising and swelling are typically minimized significantly during this time. The results from eyelid surgery are usually long-lasting, although the aging process continues.

Dr. Weinberg will discuss and answer questions about specific possible side effects and complications in detail during request an appointment online.
