Forehead LiftBrowlift is designed to minimize forehead creases, furrowed forehead and frown lines, drooping eyebrows, and hooding over the eyes. This is done by removing excess tissue, altering forehead muscles and tightening the forehead skin. Through the many conferences Dr. Weinberg has attended with internationally renowned craniofacial surgeons, he has had the benefit of consolidating his own impressive abilities in brow lift surgery . The traditional technique, with an incision across the top of the head, well hidden just behind the hairline, is the most common method, and Dr. Weinberg has achieved excellent results with this technique. It can also be done in appropriate candidates with the use of an endoscope, which requires 3 to 5 short incisions. While the endoscopic brow lift requires smaller incisions, and a shorter healing time, the conventional method has a higher success rate as there is greater surgical control, and excess tissue is actually removed. Brow lift is most often done in people over 40, and takes 1 to 2 hours. It is almost always done under general anesthesia, in the comfort and privacy of our clinic. For an overview of what to expect throughout the surgical process from consultation to post operative period, including general risks and side effects, see the general section on Surgical Procedures. Additional risks include injury to facial nerves, causing loss of motion, muscle weakness, or an asymmetrical look that is usually, though not always, temporary. One is usually back to work in 7 to 10 days, usually sooner for an endoscopic forehead lift. More strenuous activities can be done within several weeks. There is usually full recovery from the bruising in 2 to 3 weeks. One should limit sun exposure for several months. The results usually last at least 5 to 10 years. Aging does continue and therefore new wrinkles and expression lines may eventually reform.
