Wound healing and overall speed of recovery are influenced by a surgeon’s meticulous and delicate handling of the tissues. Face and Neck Lift surgery is designed to improve sagging facial skin, jowls, and loose neck skin by removing excess fat, tightening muscles and redraping skin. It is a particularly exciting procedure with the potential for dramatic results.  It is most often done for patients over 40. It usually takes 4 to 6 hours. It is always done under general anesthesia.  Patients usually opt to have their surgery at the clinic and enjoy the personal attention and beautiful soothing atmosphere, not to mention the discretion and  privacy, our facility offers. For those patients who suffer from significant health issues, or who simply prefer the hospital setting, the procedure is easily arranged at Trillium Health Centre, where Dr. Weinberg is Chief of Plastic Surgery. Other specific risks include the possibility of injury to nerves that control facial muscles or sensation which, if it occurs, it is usually temporary but may rarely be permanent.

Patients will have sutures removed at the clinic within 5 to 7 days, and can typically return to work within 10 to 14 days, though bruising can sometimes be present for 2 to 3 weeks. Men will need to shave behind the ears where beard growing skin is repositioned. Depending on one’s skin type, results usually last at least 5 to 10 years, and sometimes much longer, but the aging process does continue and patients may eventually wish to have a repeat procedure.
