Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

Breast Lift is often done in combination with Breast Augmentation. As mentioned in that section, Dr. Weinberg has done over 1000 breast surgeries in the last several years, and he is an expert in these procedures. Often after having breast fed several children, breasts can become pendulous, and the nipple descends. A breast lift is designed to raise and reshape sagging breasts by removing excess skin and repositioning the breast tissue and nipples.  A Breast lift is a tricky procedure which, because of the necessary location of incisions, always results in some scarring. That is why anyone considering this surgery should seek out an experienced and qualified plastic surgeon such as Dr. Weinberg.

Masotpexy usually takes 2 hours and is almost always done under general anesthesia. The procedure is usually done at the clinic, where patients can enjoy our attentive staff and spa like atmosphere. However, because Dr. Weinberg is Chief of Plastic Surgery at Trillium Health Centre, patients have the option of having their surgery in hospital. Patients are usually back to work in 1 week or so. Scars fade over a period of several months to a year. Because we cannot halt the aging process the duration of the results is variable; gravity, pregnancy, aging, and weight changes may cause new sagging.  Results may last longer or be enhanced when breast implants are inserted as part of the procedure.
