Male Breast Reduction Procedure
Male breast reduction typically takes an hour to an hour and a half and is almost always performed under general anesthesia. Male Breast Reduction Cost & Related Procedures
Sometimes a male breast reduction is combined with liposuction to reduce the costs of having 2 procedures separately. For patients 18 years of age or under it may be covered by OHIP. In this case, the surgery will be performed at Trillium Health Centre where Dr. Weinberg serves as Chief of Plastic Surgery.
After Your Procedure
After a male breast reduction, patients are usually back to work within 3 to 7 days and can return to exercise and other strenuous activities in about 2 to 3 weeks. Any swelling and bruising will likely resolve over the next 3 to 6 months. The results of a male breast reduction are usually permanent, and many patients report that they are so pleased with the procedure, they wish they had considered it sooner.
