Face & Neck Lift Procedure
At our Mississauga clinic, face lift and neck lift procedures are designed to improve sagging facial skin, jowls, and loose neck skin by removing excess fat, tightening muscles and redraping the skin, minus any excess. The procedure usually take 4 to 6 hours to perform, and is always performed under general anesthesia. Patients usually opt to have their surgery at the clinic, where they enjoy the personal attention, beautiful soothing atmosphere, discretion, and privacy that our facility offers. For those patients who suffer from significant health issues, or who prefer the hospital setting, the procedure is easily arranged at Trillium Health Centre, one of the largest teaching hospitals in the Province, where Dr. Weinberg is Chief of Plastic Surgery. Long Scar (Traditional) Facelift
For this procedure, patients who have major loss of skin tone and lax, hanging skin in both face and neck obtain substantial lifting with an incision concealed within the hairline and folds of the ear that extends from the temple, to the front of the ear, around the back of the ear, and backward beneath the hairline to the nape of the neck.
Short Scar, Mini-Lift, "S" Lift, or Weekend Facelift
For this procedure, patients with less extreme laxity of skin, and in particular those who do not need neck lift, achieve lift with an incision that extends from the temple, behind the hairline, to the ear.
Cost & Related Procedures
The cost of a facelift in Mississauga varies, depending on whether it is a short or long scar facelift, and whether it will be combined with other procedures such as a brow lift or eyelid surgery. Dr. Weinberg is down to earth and approachable and will discuss the details of your procedure and the costs at your in depth consultation, as well as reviewing all your cosmetic options. Patients who are considering a face lift, but are not sure if they're quite ready for surgery, may benefit from a non-surgical face lift using Botox Cosmetic® and dermal fillers, like Juvéderm® and Restylane.
After Your Procedure
Patients will have sutures removed at the clinic within 5 to 7 days, and can typically return to work within 10 to 14 days. Bruising may be present for 2 to 3 weeks. Men will need to shave behind the ears where beard-growing skin is repositioned. Depending on one's skin type, results usually last at least 5 to 10 years and sometimes much longer. However, the aging process does continue and patients may eventually wish to have a repeat procedure.
