Breast Lift
Often after breastfeeding or losing a significant amount of weight, breasts can become pendulous, and the nipples may descend. Mastopexy, also called a breast lift, can help Mississauga and Toronto women who experience sagging or heavy breasts, and lift the breasts to a more youthful position. This procedure is often performed in combination with breast augmentation, as a breast lift alone cannot restore lost volume.
A breast lift works by removing excess skin and repositioning the breast tissue and nipples to a higher, more appealing position. Having performed over 1,000 breast surgeries in the last few years alone, Dr. Weinberg is extremely experienced at breast lift procedures and reports that, together with breast augmentation, these are among the most frequently performed surgeries at his facility.

Breast Lift Procedure
Breast lift procedures are typically performed under general anesthesia. The procedure usually takes around 2 hours to complete, and is usually performed at the clinic, where patients can enjoy our attentive staff and spa-like atmosphere. However, because Dr. Weinberg is Chief of Plastic Surgery at Trillium Health Centre, patients have the option of having their surgery in hospital as well. As with all surgical procedures, there are possible complications that can occur with breast lift. Potential complications specific to your surgery will be discussed in detail at your consultation. For a discussion of general risks of surgery see http://www.mississaugacosmeticsurgeryclinic.com/our-practice/expect.cfm.
There are 3 main incision types used in breast lift surgery: periareolar, "lolly pop," and "anchor," with the choice largely dependent on the size of the breasts. Dr. Weinberg recommends methods that can produce small scars and very pleasing results. During your procedure, Dr. Weinberg will reshape the breast and move the nipple up to a more desirable position. By removing excess skin as well as tightening the breast, the result is a more firm and youthful look.
Breast Lift Cost & Related Procedures
A breast lift is commonly performed with a breast augmentation for a more comprehensive rejuvenation. Your breast lift cost will depend on several factors, including whether breast augmentation is also performed, and if so what implant type is used. This will be discussed during your consultation. with Dr. Weinberg.
After Your Procedure
Most of our Mississauga and Toronto breast lift patients report that they are usually back to work in about 1 week after their surgery. Scars will continue to fade over a period of several months to a year. Following your procedure, you will be asked to wear a surgical bra for a few weeks to support the new shape of your breasts.
Dr. Weinberg will discuss and answer questions about specific possible side effects and complications in detail during your consultation.
